Three generations.Same counties. Same ground.
Cribley was founded in 1946 in southeast Michigan. The company drilled its first residential well in Washtenaw County and has worked continuously in the region ever since. The aquifer knowledge accumulated over eight decades — well logs, depth records, mineral profiles by township — is the foundation of how we work today.
What started as a drilling operation grew to include pump service and maintenance as the region's well infrastructure aged. When Champion Water Treatment was brought under the Cribley umbrella, the integration was natural — a well driller and a water treatment company working the same counties, serving the same property owners. Today, Cribley is the only company in southeast Michigan that handles drilling, pumps, and treatment under a single roof.
The counties have changed around us. Ann Arbor grew. Brighton expanded. New subdivisions replaced farmland. What hasn't changed is the geology. The same aquifer layers that produced clean water for Washtenaw County farms in 1946 still produce water for the neighborhoods built over those farms. We know those layers because we've been drilling through them for three generations.

Pump failure has many possible causes. Water quality problems have specific sources. We don't guess and we don't upsell. We diagnose first, recommend after, and explain our reasoning in plain language.
We tell you if it can wait
Some things need to be fixed right now. Others can wait a season or a year. We'll tell you which is which. A company that calls everything urgent has different incentives than a company trying to earn your long-term trust.
